'Tis the season for Christmas bazaars and crafts!

Check out our listing of local bazaars and craft shows

The Danube Seniors Leisure Centre Craft Show and Sale on Saturday offered everything from White Elephant items culled from members' cupboards and closets, to jewellery, Christmas decorations, books and puzzles, and the wonderful creations of the Craft Circle and Woodworking Shop.

There were Christmas pins, tea-towel handbags, wooden whirligigs and birdhouses in addition to tables of baked goods and preserves.

Visitors were invited to enjoy tea or coffee in the Tea Room, or a light lunch after 11. The Craft Show & Sale was a fundraiser for the maintenance of equipment and purchase of supplies to keep the crafters busy.

One of those who returned to Bradford for the event was the original “Craft Lady.” Pat Ledlie launched the craft circle at the centre and hercraft shows, featuring everything from home-made preserves to paper-tole pictures, set the bar high. Ledlie, now living in Haliburton, was delighted to be back in town.
