NEWS RELEASE
THE TOWN OF BRADFORD WEST GWILLIMBURY
*************************
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury has implemented a COVID-19 vaccination policy intended to maximize COVID-19 vaccination rates among town employees.

The policy recognizes that vaccination is one of the most critical control measures for addressing the hazard of COVID-19, and that those who are unvaccinated pose a considerably increased risk of becoming seriously ill from COVID-19 and also of spreading the virus to others, with significant impact on human health and workplace continuity.

The town requires that all staff be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine series by Nov. 1, 2021, within the limits of the Human Rights Code (Ontario). Employees who are not able to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine for a reason related to a protected ground set out in the Ontario Human Rights Code can request accommodation.

Full vaccination will be required by all staff, regardless of how often they are currently attending a work location or how much time they spend there.

“Full vaccination is a critical step in our collective fight against COVID-19, and one of the most effective ways we can protect ourselves, our families, colleagues and the community,” said CAO Geoff McKnight.
