Christmas, Diwali, and Bill Clinton’s former spiritual advisor are the focus of several different events in Bradford West Gwillimbury and area this weekend.

SATURDAY, DEC. 1

Bond Head & District Lion Club’s fourth annual Christmas Arts & Crafts Sale

9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bond Head Community Hall, 2892 County Rd. 27, Bond Head

Free admission and food is available.

More than 40 vendors will offer you unique and one-of-a-kind items for your Christmas shopping.

Baking, decorations, knitting, sewing, jewellery, wooden bowls, boards, toys, glassware, framed pictures, paintings, quilting, pottery, lotions, soaps, Nutcrackers, and much more!

Indoor Bradford Farmers’ Market — holiday theme!

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cocoa and Cookies with Santa

1-3 p.m.

Elman W. Campbell Museum, 134 Main St. S. in Newmarket

Admission is free with a donation of non-perishable food for the Newmarket Food Pantry.

Main Street Christmas in Schomberg

3 p.m.: Craft show and sale at the Community Hall

4 p.m.: Santa Claus Parade

8 p.m.: Illuminated Farmers’ Parade of Lights

Plus live entertainment, hot chocolate and apple cider, roasted chestnuts and more. Main Street will be closed for the event.

Admission is $5, and free for accompanied children 12 and under.

The Christmas Chest

7 p.m.

Bradford Baptist Church, 3224 Sideroad 10, Bradford

An evening of classical ballet, poetry and music. Explore the true meaning of Christmas in dance and music.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Refreshments available.

Innispirit Christmas!

2 p.m.

Seventh annual concert bringing together talents from Innisfil’s United churches in Gilford, Lefroy, Churchill, and St. James in Stroud.

Enjoy seasonal music and children’s stories at St. James United Church, at 2230 Victoria St. in Stroud.

Admission free with a donation to the Innisfil Food Bank, or a new unwrapped toy for Innisfil Christmas for Kids.

Diwali celebrations

Diwali is a Hindu festival of lights, which is celebrated every autumn in the northern hemisphere. One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolises the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
