Low-impact yoga

Free, all-ages event.

Spring Tonic Maple Syrup Festival

Runs Saturday and Sunday

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day

Tiffin Centre for Conservation, 8195 Line 8, Essa, near Utopia

See costumed re-enactors, demonstrations of maple syrup making, horse-drawn wagon rides, crafts, music, a Zoo to You animal show, and a pancake and sausage breakfast served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost is $14 adults, $7 kids (includes breakfast), cash only at the gate.

Make-and-take bird feeder craft is $5. Hosted by the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority and the Barrie Rotary Club.

Baby shower for puppies and kittens

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Red Barn Event Centre, 8464 County Road 27, Barrie

All-ages event. Entrance is by donation, with a minimum suggested donation of $10 for adults.

Join the Barrie Animal Centre as we prepare for the arrival of puppy and kitten season – and the demands these cute little bundles of joy put on centre resources.

April Pools Day

Noon to 3 p.m.

BWG Leisure Centre

Free family activities at the Bradford Lions Aquatics Centre - including drowning prevention workshop, rescue techniques, a Family Swim to Survive Challenge.

Visit with firefighters, police, paramedics, lifeguards and Bradford Lions Club members to kick off the warm-weather season.

A fundraiser for the Lifesaving Society’s drowning prevention campaign.

Indoor Triathlon

3-5 p.m.

BWG Leisure Centre

Combining a 15-minute swim, 15 minutes on the stationary bike, 15 minute run or walk on the track, with transitions.

Cost is $30 per person, $40 per relay.

Roast Beef Dinner

4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Bradford United Church, 66 Barrie St.

Cost $18 adults, $9 for children, for a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, including dessert, and a great social evening.

Spring concert: Yodelin’ Cowgirl and Good Company

Bond Head Community Hall

Featuring Good Company (Brian Good, of The Good Brothers, and Susan Good) and Yodelin’ Cowgirl Naomi Bristow.

Talent Show fundraiser

7 p.m.

Tec-We-Gwill WI Hall, Line 10 at County Road 27, in Newton Robinson

Sponsored by the Tec-We-Gwill Women’s Institute.

Event is a fundraiser to repair the hall’s piano. There will also be a silent auction of items donated by local artisans.

Choir performance 

3 p.m.

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 484 Water St., Newmarket

Tapestry Chamber Choir presents The Lord Said, Handel’s Dixit Dominus. The choir will be joined by the strings of the York Chamber Ensemble for this concert.
