Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation’s president and CEO, Susan Mullin, joined long-time partner and supporter, Chris Pfaff, to celebrate the ceremonial grand opening of Hans Pfaff Court on Feb. 26.

The naming opportunity was auctioned off at the 2011 Southlake Black Tie Gala, a bi-annual fundraising event that brings together business leaders and influential members of the many communities served by Southlake Regional Health Centre to raise funds in support of the hospital’s most urgent needs.

Chris Pfaff, president and CEO of Pfaff Automotive Partners, placed the winning bid, a purchase that allowed him to select a street name that was personally meaningful, while also providing generous funding to Southlake to help fund tools and equipment vital to leading-edge patient care.

“Taking care of the people in the communities we serve is a really important part of who we are and it’s a value that was engrained in me and in Pfaff Automotive by my father, Hans,” said Chris Pfaff. “He believed in putting down roots in the community where he lived and worked, and he did that by helping people. That kindness and generosity has become his legacy, and it’s why I’m proud to have this street named in his honour.”

Hans Pfaff Court is located in Newmarket’s Copper Hills development, one of four streets that were generously donated for naming by Redwood Properties at the 2011 Gala. Together, these four streets cumulatively raised more than $120,000 in support of Southlake. Plans are now underway for the 2019 Gala, with Pfaff Automotive as presenting sponsor and Felicia Salomon, owner of Redwood Properties, co-chairing the event with Susan Chant.

In addition to his role as president and CEO of Pfaff Automotive Partners, Chris Pfaff is also a member of the Southlake Foundation Board of Directors and the newly established Philanthropy Cabinet, a group created with the objective of bringing together business and community leaders to inspire investment in Southlake and to support the continued delivery of leading-edge care close to home for the communities who rely on us.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Chris Pfaff and his team supporting our efforts to provide leading-edge care for our communities, close to home,” said Susan Mullin. “To have this permanent reminder in the community of the level of support and commitment that our supporters like Pfaff, Redwood Properties and so many others have for Southlake is really something special.”
