Many Hands, Doing Good has sponsored a Bradford Minor Baseball Association (BMBA) hardball team in honour of Daniel Neville-Lake’s passion for baseball.

In a ceremony held on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Joe Magani Park in Bradford West Gwillimbury, representatives from BMBA, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury and South Simcoe Police presented Andy Pattenden, a Director with Many Hands, Doing Good, with tokens of appreciation for their support of youth baseball. The ceremony also served as an opportunity to talk about the dangers of impaired driving and the toll it continues to take on innocent lives.

During the ceremony, a letter was read from Many Hands, Doing Good Founder Jennifer Neville-Lake, who described what baseball meant to Daniel Neville-Lake, who was nine years old at the time he was killed by an impaired driver.

A photograph of Daniel was also shared with attendees that showed Daniel at his last Toronto Blue Jays game on Father’s Day weekend, 2015. The BMBA U11 hardball team Many Hands, Doing Good has 10 boys on their roster ranging in ages from nine to 11 years old.

Many Hands, Doing Good was inspired by Jennifer Neville-Lake in response to the support that the community brought forward following Sept. 27, 2015, when Gary Neville and his three grandchildren, Daniel, Harrison and Milagros Neville-Lake, were tragically killed when their van was struck by a vehicle being driven by an impaired driver.

The foundation for Many Hands Doing Good is to keep the memories and passions of Jennifer’s children and father alive by helping other children suffering from the effects of trauma, through funding for art and music therapy as well as helping students financially as they begin to study broadcasting in college, just as Gary Neville had so many years ago.

The vision of Many Hands, Doing Good is to nurture and inspire future generations, and to build a legacy in honour of Milagros, Harrison, Daniel and Gary.

Many Hands, Doing Good is hosting their annual Family Fun Event on July 9, 2019, at Air Riderz Trampoline Park in Aurora. More information and tickets are available here.
