SANTA FE, Argentina — Despite a game-high 31 points from Canada's Addison Patterson, Puerto Rico pulled away in the third quarter to capture bronze with a 90-77 win over Canada at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup.

Led by Patterson, a product of Milton, Ont., who shot 57.1 per cent from the field and chipped in seven rebounds, Canada trailed Puerto Rico by just three heading into halftime.

But the Canadian side was outscored by five in both the third and fourth quarters to end the game trailing by 13.

Jermaine Perez paced Puerto Rico with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Tory Antonio added 23 points.

Cashius McNeilly and Benjamin Krikke were the other top scorers for Canada with 17 and 14 points, respectively.
