2 armed men rob convenience store near Davis Drive

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking witnesses and two suspects following a convenience store robbery in the Town of Newmarket.

On Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 shortly after midnight, York Regional Police were called to a convenience store located in the area of Davis Drive and Leslie Street for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they found an employee who was not physically injured.

Investigators believe that two men, both armed with a handguns, entered the store and made a demand for cash. The employee complied and the suspect fled on foot.

Suspect #1:
    •    Male
    •    5’6”, medium build
    •    Wearing a black puffy jacket, red bandanna, with black-and-white shoes
    •    Armed with a handgun

Suspect #2:  
    •    Male
    •    5’9”, medium build
    •    Wearing all black clothing with black boots
    •    Armed with a handgun

Investigators from the Hold-Up Unit remind business owners of the importance of maintaining and updating video surveillance equipment. Quality images help to identify suspects, can aid in arrests and have a tremendous impact during court proceedings.
