2 charged with impaired over the weekend

The South Simcoe Police Service charged two people with impaired driving offences over the weekend.

On Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m., police responded to the area of Big Bay Point Road and Strathallan Woods Lane in Innisfil after a vehicle struck a hydro pole. The driver was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, 31-year-old Coralee Cook of Innisfil was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired - Excess Blood Alcohol and Dangerous Operation.  Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days.

On Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at approximately 12:45 a.m., police observed a vehicle driving erratically on Holland Street West in Bradford. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, 26-year-old Nicholas DeFaria of Bradford was charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired - Excess Blood Alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
