A four-month investigation into the largest methamphetamine production operation ever targeted by York Regional Police has resulted in the seizure of about $5 million in drugs and the dismantling of an active meth lab. 

Eight people have been charged in the Project Discard investigation and one suspect is still at large, according to a York Regional Police release.

Investigators with the Organized Crime Bureau - Guns, Gangs and Drug Enforcement Unit executed six search warrants at multiple locations in the region.

Further details are to be revealed at a news conference this morning at York Regional Police Headquarters in Aurora.
