Arrest made in Bradford stabbing investigation

The victim suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries

BRADFORD - On June 12, 2018 around 7 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to an address on County Road 27 in Bradford West Gwillimbury for a report of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found the victim laying on the ground. The 42-year-old Bradford West Gwillimbury man was treated on scene by paramedics, transported to a local hospital and then airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre. His injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening.

Police arrested a suspect who was walking on County Road 88 near Brown's Lane. He was transported to South Division.

The 38-year-old Toronto man was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous and disobey court order.

He will appear in court in Barrie this morning for a bail hearing.

Investigation has determined that the suspect and victim were known to each other. The stabbing occurred during an altercation inside a residence on County Road 27.
