NEWS RELEASE
SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE SERVICE
*************************
A 27-year-old Bradford man was charged after South Simcoe Police Service officers recently responded to a report of criminal harassment and extortion.
The female victim told police she had received unwanted, constant communication from her ex-boyfriend who also threatened to extort her. The accused surrendered to police at the South Division where he was charged and released with a future court date.
The Department of Justice defines criminal harassment as behaviour that often consists of repeated conduct that is carried out over a period of time and that causes its targets to reasonably fear for their safety but does not necessarily result in physical injury. It may be a precursor to subsequent violent and/or lethal acts. Call police if you are a victim.
