Canal Road in Bradford is closed from Highway 400 east to Line 5 due to a downed hydro wire.
HydroOne is on scene and there are power outages in the area.
The closure is expected to be in place until at least 5 - 6 p.m.
Police are asking motorists to avoid the area.
