TOWNSHIIP OF ADJALA - TOSORONTIO - At approximately 11:00 am, Sept. 22, 2020, the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified of a commercial motor vehicle crash on the Adjala-Tosorontio/New Tecumseth Townline Road, between the 2nd and 3rd concessions.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers located a commercial motor vehicle in the west ditch. The vehicle had been northbound on the Townline Road when it apparently lost control and travelled into the west ditch where it struck a tree. The vehicle was deemed to have a mechanical defect.
The driver and single occupant of the vehicle succumbed to injuries received as a result of the crash. The deceased was positively identified as Denis Garant, age 44 of North York, Ontario.
Following a lengthy investigation, led by the Nottawasaga OPP Crime Unit, an arrest has been made. Milton Giovanni Urgiles, age 44, of Toronto, Ontario, was arrested on May 4, 2021, and charged with:
• Causing death by criminal negligence
The accused was released on an Undertaking with a court date of June 9th, 2021.
