On Sunday, Sept. 18, at approximately 8:50 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service responded to a citizen-initiated complaint regarding a vehicle that had travelled southbound on Highway 400 and exited at the ONroute in the Town of Innisfil.

As a result of an investigation, 63-year-old Mikel Schneider of Stoney Creek was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired (excess blood-alcohol). His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Impaired driving affects your ability to react and increases the chance of a collision. Impaired drivers not only put themselves at risk, but also others with whom they share the road. Drive sober.
