Driver accused of having twice the legal limit of alcohol

A call from a citizen about a possible impaired driver has resulted in impaired driving and Over 80 charges against a 46-year-old Bradford man.

On Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018 around 11:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the parking lot of a grocery store on Melbourne Drive in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
A caller reported that a man who appeared unsteady on his feet left the store with a bottle of wine and drove off. When officers conducted a vehicle stop on Lynn Street, an odour of alcohol was detected along with other signs of impairment. 

The driver was arrested for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and over 80. He was transported to South Division where tests resulted in readings of twice the legal limit alcohol. The man was charged accordingly. His driver's licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
