Driver faces impaired charge after suspicious vehicle reported

The driver was charged with over 80 mg of alcohol in his blood and had his licence suspended for 90 days

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, around 9 p.m., a citizen called South Simcoe Police Service about a suspicious vehicle parked on Sideroad 5 near the intersection of Line 9 in Bradford. Police responded and spoke to the driver.

A roadside screening device test resulted in a fail and the driver was transported to South Division for further breath tests. Those tests resulted in readings over the legal limit.  

34-year-old Andrew McBride of Thornton was charged with over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.
