Driving 112 km/h over the speed limit leads to stunt driving charge

INNISFIL - A 29-year-old Innisfil man is charged with Stunt Driving and Speeding after police stopped a motorcycle travelling 112 km/h over the posted speed limit.

On Friday, Aug. 16, 2019 around 3 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers observed a motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed on Shore Acres Drive near Yonge Street in Innisfil. A speed measurement was obtained of 192 km/h in the posted 80 km/h zone.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and charged the 29-year-old rider with Stunt Driving and Speeding. His licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He has a court date in September.

This is no way to race into the weekend. We are patrolling roads and waterways to ensure drivers and boaters obey posted speed limits and arrive alive. Slow down and enjoy the weekend.
