Erratic driving leads to multiple charges for Alliston resident

The 19-year-old was charged with racing, fleeing police, dangerous operation, failing to stop at stop signs and more

Members of the Nottawasaga detachment of the OPP, while responding to a call for service, observed erratic driving behaviour that became increasingly concerning.

On June 26, 2022, at approximately 12:48 a.m., police encountered a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on County Road 13, Adjala-Tosorontio. The driver was engaging in unsafe and erratic driving behaviour.

The investigation began as officers made several attempts to stop the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old Nicholas Pringle of Alliston, New Tecumseth has been charged with the following:

  • Flight from peace officer ~ two counts
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for the following:

  • Race motor vehicle - excessive speed
  • Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit
  • Disobey stop sign - fail to stop ~ two counts
  • Drive without proper headlights - motor vehicle
  • Fail to signal for turn
  • Drive without proper rear light - motor vehicle

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on July 21, 2022
