The Bradford West Gwillimbury/Innisfil Services Board and the South Simcoe Police Service are proud to announce the swearing-in ceremony for the service's fourth Chief of Police John Van Dyke.

The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 at the Innisfil Town Hall located at 2010 Innisfil Beach Road, Innisfil.

Chief Designate Van Dyke was named as the new chief of police in January and brings 34 years of service to the role. He was born and raised in Bradford and still has strong family ties to the community.

"We look forward to officially swearing in the new chief of police for the South Simcoe Police Service," said Police Services Board Chair Chris Gariepy. "Chief Designate Van Dyke is a veteran leader who has the strong, supportive qualities needed to guide the police service forward to the next exciting chapter for its members and the growing communities they serve.”
