Impaired charges laid after car leaves road, crashes through trees in Innisfil

The driver, a 50-year-old Innisfil man, did not sustain any injuries

A 50-year-old Innisfil man was charged with impaired operation and over 80 after a single-vehicle collision in Innisfil.

On Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, around 12:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on the 20th Sideroad at the 2nd Line. A vehicle had left the road, crashed through trees before stopping next to a house.

The driver was arrested at the scene for impaired driving. He was transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in readings of twice the legal limit of alcohol.

A 50-year-old Innisfil man was charged with operation while impaired and over 80. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He did not sustain any injuries and was released with a future a November court date.
