A 47-year-old Innisfil man won't be driving for a week after being charged with speeding and stunt Driving.

On Friday, May 25, 2018 around 8 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Service Traffic Enforcement officer noticed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Big Bay Point Road in Innisfil.

The officer obtained a speed measurement of 120 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver was charged with Speeding and Stunt Driving. His licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Excessive speed is consistently a key factor in many fatal collisions. Stunt Drivers put themselves and innocent road users at risk of death or serious injury when they choose to disobey traffic laws and disregard public safety. Road safety continues to be a top priority for South Simcoe Police Service officers. We patrol our communities to ensure our motoring citizens get to where they're going safely.

On Thursday, May 24, 2018, South Simcoe Police Service responded to 70 calls for service.
