Local man charged after alleged assault of three local teens

A man is facing charges after three people were assaulted Wednesday evening in Innisfil.

Shortly before 8 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service responded to numerous calls about an assault in the area of Belle Aire Beach Road and Arnold Street. Police said two 17-year-old males and an 18-year-old male were assaulted during an altercation. The 18-year-old was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The two other victims were not injured. The suspect, who knew the victims, surrendered without incident.

Clarence Bower, 23, of Innisfil, has been charged with assault, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was held for a bail hearing.
