The South Simcoe Police Service Street Crime Unit has been investigating a number of residential break and enters in Bradford over the past couple of months.

As a result of this investigation, a suspect was identified and a warrant was issued for the arrest of a 36-year-old man from Bradford.

On Tuesday, July 31, 2018 the man was arrested by Barrie Police. The man was held for a bail hearing on South Simcoe Police Service charges of two counts of Break and Enter, three counts of Possession of Stolen Property, five counts of Trafficking in Stolen Property and Breach of Probation.

The arrest was made possible through the collaboration of South Simcoe Police Service and Barrie Police Service. Working with our policing partners, an ongoing investigation was brought to a successful resolution.

We want to take this opportunity to remind residents to always lock doors and windows as well as vehicle and garage doors. It is tempting to leave windows open during hot weather but that can be an invitation to thieves.

Break and enters are often a crime of opportunity. The more difficult you make it for thieves to break into your home, the more likely it is that they will move along.

We also encourage residents to keep a file with serial numbers of electronics and photographs of jewellery and valuables somewhere safe to aid in returning recovered property and help support a charge and conviction when suspects are arrested.
