Man facing charges after pedestrian collision

BRADFORD - A 19-year-old Cookstown man is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle after a young woman was hit by a vehicle in Bradford.

On Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018 just before 8 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to a coffee shop on Holland St. West for a collision involving a pedestrian.

Police learned that a vehicle had pulled away from the drive-through at a high rate of speed and turned south in the parking lot striking the victim.

A 22-year-old Innisfil woman was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The accused stopped immediately and was arrested without incident on the scene. He was transported to South Division and later released with a future court date.
