On the one year anniversary of the legalization of cannabis in Canada, South Simcoe Police Service wants the public to be aware of new regulations coming into effect today regarding cannabis edibles, extracts and topicals.
The products are now legal for those 19 years or age and older and will available in Ontario by mid-December at the earliest through licensed retailers or online from the Ontario Cannabis Store. Driving under the influence of drugs is impaired driving and has the same criminal consequences as being impaired by alcohol. With cannabis edibles becoming available soon, we want to remind consumers to store products safely and out of the reach of children and youth.
