Novice driver accused of having cannabis in the vehicle

A 19-year-old from Bradford faces charges after police allegedly smelled cannabis from inside the car

On Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer patrolling the area of Holland Street West and Professor Day Drive in Bradford observed a westbound vehicle without head lights or tail lights.

A traffic stop was conducted. After detecting an odour of cannabis from inside the car, a roadside drug screening device test was done.

As a result, 19-year-old Madison Mackenzie of Bradford was issued a three-day licence suspension.

She was charged with driving without proper head lights and for being a novice driver with drugs present.
