On Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, around 4 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a three-vehicle collision on 10th Sideroad between 9th and 10th Line in Bradford.

The collision occurred when one driver stopped in the southbound lane due to heavy wind and was rear-ended slightly by a second vehicle. Both drivers pulled over and got out to look at the damage.

A third vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed struck one of the vehicles which caused it to move forward and pinned one of the drivers between the stopped vehicles. The 63-year-old man who was pinned was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 25-year-old man involved in the initial collision was treated in hospital for a minor injury. The driver of the third vehicle was not hurt.

The investigation is ongoing.

It is important to always put safety first on our roads, especially in the snow and whiteout conditions we are experiencing during this winter storm.
