TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ADJALA-TOSORONTIO AND ESSA TOWNSHIPS - The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently seeking the public's assistance in identifying two suspects sought in a theft and fraud investigation in Alliston, New Tecumseth.

On Monday, Sept. 14, 2020 at approximately 1:45 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP officers responded to a theft from a motor vehicle on Gallagher Crescent. The owner reported that a wallet was stolen from the vehicle around 5:30 a.m. The wallet contained various personal items, including debit and credit cards. The owner was alerted after hearing the vehicle door slam while parked in the driveway, then attended the driveway and noticed the suspects walking away. A search of the vehicle revealed the wallet and other personal items stolen.

Police commenced an investigation and as a result have established that the bank cards were used at approximately 6 a.m. at a local gas station by the same two suspects.

Suspect #1 is described as a Caucasian female, pregnant, wearing white pants, burgundy jacket, dark hair worn in a bun, blue medical mask.

Suspect #2 is described as a Caucasian female, short dark hair, wearing a blue mask, blue shirt and a red jacket.

The Nottawasaga OPP is asking residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious people, vehicles or activities to police. Police would like residents to check their security cameras or dash cams for video footage. Nottawasaga OPP reminds residents to:
    •    Always keep your vehicle locked;
    •    Do not leave valuables in your vehicle;
    •    If you absolutely must leave valuables in your vehicle, do not leave them in plain sight;
    •    Ensure all windows/sunroofs are completely closed;
    •    Don't leave your vehicle running or unattended; and
    •    Don't keep personal documents, such as vehicle ownership, insurance slips, credit card invoices, or other documents containing personal information, in your vehicles. The loss of wallet/purse personal contents along with vehicle documents can also leave the victim vulnerable to secondary crimes such as fraud and identity theft.
