An investigation is underway after human remains were found Wednesday in Springwater Township.
Police were contacted at about 5 p.m. after a member of the public found the remains on a property off of Penetanguishene Road, Huronia West OPP stated in a news release.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to identify the deceased and determine the cause of death.
Police do not believe there is a threat to public safety.
There will be an increased police presence in the area.
