TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ADJALA-TOSORONTIO & ESSA TOWNSHIPS - On Monday Jan. 11, 2021, Police Constable Shawn Evans of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), provided a virtual zoom event for parents, guardians, and school staff from Tecumseth Beeton Elementary School and Tecumseth South Central Public School.
Utilizing the Nottawasaga OPP's virtual studio, PC Evans was able to connect remotely for an interactive presentation, offering information and safety tips, including:
- An interactive discussion about parent's perspectives of what our children are doing with technology
- Exploring the term "digital citizenship" and the impacts of our children's "digital footprint"
- Gaining further insight into our children's digital privacy and explore areas where young people are most vulnerable
- Helpful tips and resources for students, parents/guardians, and families
