Police appeal for witnesses after impaired, stunt driving arrest

Innisfil driver faces charges of impaired driving, speeding, stunt driving and having cannabis readily available in his vehicle

The South Simcoe Police Service is appealing for witnesses following an impaired and stunt driving arrest in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

On Sunday, March 26 at 9:10 p.m., police observed a vehicle travelling southbound at a high rate of speed on Yonge Street in the area of Line 12.

Police say the driver was travelling 151 km/h in the posted 80 km/h zone.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Innisfil man was charged with Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol, Dangerous Operation, Stunt Driving, Speeding, having cannabis readily available, and fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 14 days.

The South Simcoe Police Service is appealing to drivers who were in the area of Yonge Street and Line 12 at 9:10 p.m. Sunday evening and witnessed the suspect vehicle, to contact Constable Capeloa at 705-436-2141, ext. 2032, [email protected] or contact Crime Stoppers.
