Police hope to identify grocery store purse thief

Purse was grabbed out of a cart while the victim was shopping

South Simcoe Police Service officers are appealing for the public's help to solve the theft of a woman's purse.

On Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2020 around 3:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a grocery store near Barrie Street and 8th Line in Bradford regarding the theft of a purse. Once on scene, officers learned that a female suspect grabbed a woman's purse out of her shopping cart when the victim was looking away. The suspect quickly left the store and drove off.

Suspect:
    •    Female, wearing a dark head/face scarf, black puffy long coat, blue jeans, grey running shoes

Suspect vehicle:
    •    Grey Ford Escape

Anyone with information regarding this theft is asked to contact South Simcoe Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
