Police locate vehicle in pedestrian fatality

Police ask for dashcam footage from people in the area at the time

South Simcoe Police Service officers have located the vehicle involved in a fatal pedestrian collision in Bradford.

On Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 7:23 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Holland St. West and West Park Ave. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. A 40-year-old Bradford woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The eastbound lanes of Holland St. West were closed from West Park to Melbourne St. for about four hours while Collision Reconstruction officers from the Traffic Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit processed the scene.

Investigation has determined that a vehicle that remained at the scene was involved in the collision. Police have spoken to the driver and the investigation is continuing. Initial information received from witnesses suggested multiple vehicles may have been involved.

Officers are checking nearby businesses for surveillance camera footage and are appealing to anyone with dash cam video to come forward.
