South Simcoe Police Service officers are releasing security camera images in a bid to identify a suspect following a gas drive-off in Bradford.

The incident took place on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018 at 6 p.m. at a gas station on Holland St. West. A suspect pulled up at the pumps and filled his vehicle with a quantity of gas. He left the gas station without making any attempt to pay. His rear licence plate was obscured with a black-coloured covering.

The driver is described as:

  • white
  • approximately 30-40 years old
  • short brown hair
  • goatee
  • wearing a white or light grey coloured t-shirt
  • khaki coloured  pants

The suspect vehicle is described as:

  • Mazda
  • black
  • 4-door, hatchback type vehicle
  • dual exhaust pipes
  • rear licence plate obscured with a black cover

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call us at 950-77503311, 705-436-2141, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) or you can submit information online.

Sometimes drivers make an honest mistake by forgetting to pay for gas and driving-off. Often those drivers later return to the gas station to pay. Deliberately concealing your licence plate from security cameras tells a different story.
