Suspects sought following vehicle thefts in New Tecumseth area (4 photos)

Police believe there are at least three suspects involved in the two incidents

TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ADJALA-TOSORONTIO & ESSA TOWNSHIPS — Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking assistance from the public who may have any information regarding thefts of vehicles from the New Tecumseth area.

On April 18, 2022, at approximately 6:45 a.m., police received a call regarding the theft of a Toyota Corolla that was warming up on a driveway on Holt Drive in Alliston.

The incident happened at approximately 6:30 a.m., a white 4 door Lexus was observed on video surveillance stop near the residence. The suspect was seen exit the passenger side of the Lexus and enter the Toyota's driver's side. Both the Toyota and Lexus left the area in opposite directions.

At approximately 7:20 a.m., police received a call of an attempted theft of a pick-up truck in Beeton at a local gas station. Video surveillance showed a suspect exit what appeared to be the same Lexus involved from the previous incident enter a parked pick-up truck. The suspect was confronted by the owner and left the area by quickly getting into the passenger seat of the Lexus.

Police believe there are at least three suspects involved in the two incidents.

Police are reminding the public to not leave vehicles unlocked and unattended. These are crimes of opportunity that can certainly be prevented.
