Teen driver charged in Alliston pedestrian collision

Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a collision in Alliston, New Tecumseth.

On June 11, 2022, at approximately 10:28 p.m., police responded to a collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian. With assistance from New Tecumseth Fire and Paramedics, assessments of the pedestrian began on scene.

The incident occurred on Victoria Street in the area of Church Street in Alliston.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and later transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre via Air Ornge.

The pedestrian has sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 17-year-old of New Tecumseth has been charged with:

·      Careless driving causing bodily harm
