Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) arrested three people following a drug offences investigation.
The Nottawasaga CSCU began a drug-trafficking investigation in August 2021.
On Sept. 21, 2021, Nottawasaga, CSCU obtained a search warrant in relation to their investigation.
As a result of this investigation with the assistance of Orillia CSCU, Collingwood CSCU, Central Region Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU), and the Barrie Police Service Tactical Unit, the following three adults were arrested and charged.
The street value for the drugs is estimated at $10,000
Abdoul Mare, 27-year-old, of Milton was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition - two counts
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose - two counts
Mare was held for bail and released on Sept. 23, 2021 and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford Oct. 21, 2021.
Sandra Sutton, 61-year-old, of Barrie was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
Sutton was released and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on November 4, 2021.
John Worrod, 57-year-old, of Barrie was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
Worrod was released and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on November 4, 2021.
