Two collisions later, police charge woman with impaired driving

Police say the Richmond Hill woman struck a post and then was involved in a parking lot collision

On Thursday, May 6, 2021 at approximately 5:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were dispatched to a parking lot on Holland Street West in Bradford regarding a collision.

Police observed the vehicle had damage and the driver was arrested for impaired driving. Officers determined the same vehicle was involved in a collision in a nearby residential area prior to the arrest. At approximately 4 a.m., a vehicle struck a post on a nearby street, leaving vehicle debris on the roadway.

As a result of the investigation, 30-year-old Iryna Kuznetsov of Richmond Hill was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol, and dangerous operation.

Her vehicle was impounded for seven days and her licence suspended for 90 days. She was released with a future court date.

Impaired driving is a crime in progress. Thank you to the citizens who called police about these incidents. Our roads are safer when we work together.
