Two Innisfil drivers charged with impaired separate car crashes

Police say in one incident a car cashed into another car, and in the other a car crashedinto a garage

On Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at approximately 3:30 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision in the area of Sideroad 25 and Line 9 in Innisfil.

As a result of the investigation, 29-year-old Kristin Burt of Innisfil was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol.

On Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at approximately 1:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed beside a garage in the area of Rose Lane and Leonard Street in Innisfil.

As a result of the investigation, 22-year-old Hannah Plant of Innisfil was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol and dangerous operation.

Both of the above drivers had their licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days. There were no injuries in either incident.

The South Simcoe Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
