BRADFORD - A 22-year-old Aylmer man is charged with impaired driving and over 80 following a collision in a parking lot in Bradford.

On Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018 around 10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Bradford Community Centre located on Simcoe Road in Bradford.

When officers arrived, they located a male driver in the parking lot and damage to his vehicle.

While speaking with the driver, an odour of alcohol and other signs of impairment were detected. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to South Division where testing resulted in readings of over twice the legal limit of alcohol. His licence was suspended and his vehicle impounded.

Subsequent investigation revealed that a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed entered the parking lot area and struck a parked vehicle, causing it to slide and hit another parked vehicle. Both of the parked vehicles were unoccupied at the time.

The suspect was released with a future court date.
