Marco Dias was born and raised in Bradford’s Growing Tradition. After graduating from Georgian College, Marco spent nearly eight years working in the food production business, specializing in onions and carrots. From there, Marco enhanced his supply chain management skills to ensure food safety and the overall quality of the produce being sent to grocers such as Loblaws and Costco. Marco said, “I always loved being able to bring fresh carrots home and how good it felt to know that people would buy a simple thing like a bag of carrots.”

Marco’s parents came from humble beginnings in Portugal, and he’s never taken the opportunity he’s had to build a great life for himself for granted. Seeing people lining up for food troubles Marco. That’s why he’s always been a strong supporter of the Bradford Food Bank, especially through the pandemic.

“Feeding people not only sustained me, I also felt in my soul and spirit and the need to help others make transitions in their lives.” Marco said, “So then I decided it was time to finally follow my passion. Marco appreciates beautiful architecture and rich history. He said, “That was always very enticing to me. And so that really started me on my journey to my real estate career.” And that was the beginning of The Dias Group.

Whether selling produce or selling properties, for Marco it’s about making a difference in people’s lives. It’s about building relationships. He said, “The relationships that we build year over year, have grown The Dias Group into a service-based team that helps families make transitions in their lives.”

Marco and his wife Vanessa moved back to Bradford last year to build roots and raise a family. Now with their first child, Marco credits his family, his team members, and his clients for enriching his life by sharing their experiences.

The Dias Group tagline is At The Heart of Real Estate. What that means is different for each person. For Marco, selling real estate is more than about making money, it’s about offering a piece of your heart in making decisions.

Marco got into the real estate industry because he was following his passion and fulfilling his dreams. Now he wants to inspire future generations. Through a co-op program at Holy Trinity Catholic High School, Marco introduces students to the real estate business. He also encourages them to do some introspective work by journaling in hopes of identifying their passions in life.

Marco also offers an annual scholarship to business students. Scholarships helped Marco through school, and he wants to give back. “I want to ensure that I was giving the same gratitude back to the community that has given me so much. That’s the kind of joy that I get to feel, not just as a husband, father, and community member. Real estate has brought out the best part of me.”
