Get into the holiday spirit and submit an application to host a float in the Holiday Festival of Lights!
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is hosting the Holiday Festival of Lights on Saturday, November 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Henderson Memorial Park located on Line 9, west of Sideroad 10.
This event will take the place of the Santa Claus Parade in order to accommodate physical distancing requirements and gathering limits. Pre-registration will be required in order to attend the event, in which participants will walk through to see the stationary floats – more information on registration and attendance will be provided soon.
“Staff have been working hard to come up with alternate options for events that fit within provincial restrictions,” says Terry Foran, Director of Community Services. “By providing a ‘stationary parade’, we can still create a fun event while ensuring the safety of all participants, staff and volunteers.”
The Holiday Festival of Lights is an opportunity for local businesses, service groups, clubs and other community organizations to put together floats that celebrate the season, as well as any of the faith-based celebrations that take place at this time of year.
The Town of BWG needs your involvement to help us light up the night at Henderson Memorial Park!
Submit your float application now! All entries must relate to some aspect of the holiday season, be lit with a minimum of 500 lights, be designed to ensure safety and reliability, and must be entertaining to a family audience. No entry may depict Santa Claus and/or Mrs. Claus aside from the designated Santa float.
Applications to participate in this year’s modified parade are now open and will close on October 30. There is no fee to participate; limited spaces available. To submit an application or for more information please visit www.townofbwg.com/santa
