Hydrant flushing is a program of the Town’s Water Division, and takes place every spring and fall.  Starting this week and through the end of October, water will be run at every hydrant in BWG to ensure a clean and fresh water supply for our municipal water customers.

Work takes place Mondays to Fridays between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  It is done on an area-by-area basis, with specific locations advertised on the Town’s Facebook page; however, as the work may affect adjacent areas, we ask all customers to be patient during this time.

This activity can cause non-harmful sediment to enter the water system, showing up as yellowish tap water.  Should you experience discoloured water, please run your laundry tub tap or bathtub tap for up to 10 minutes.  If the water does not clear, please call 905-775-5369 ext. 2300.

For emergency water-related issues after hours, such as water main breaks, please contact the South Simcoe Police Station at 905-775-3311 and they will contact the Town’s on-call staff.

Thank you for your continuing assistance and cooperation.
