It will be another year before we can hold a celebration like the one pictured, but Portuguese Canadians will still be celebrating their National Day on June 10.
PROCLAMATION: Portugal Day - June 10, 2021
WHEREAS:
Portugal Day is celebrated around the world every year on June 10; and
WHEREAS:
The Portuguese Cultural Centre of Bradford was established in 1983 in the Town of Bradford as a gathering place for the Portuguese community; and
WHEREAS:
One of the mission statements of the Centre is to promote the Portuguese culture through religious festivals, educational seminars and various community events; and
WHEREAS:
Proud Portuguese Canadians have chosen Canada, namely Bradford West Gwillimbury, as a future for their families and their children.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
That His Worship Mayor Rob Keffer and Members of Council proclaim June 10, 2021 as Portugal Day in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
