Earlier this year, the provincial government initiated a review of regional governments including Simcoe County. The review is intended to improve governance, decision-making and service delivery.
At their regular meeting on April 2, the Town of BWG’s Committee of the Whole approved a staff report that recommends that a detailed analysis be undertaken to determine the benefits of separating from Simcoe County. If ratified at the April 16 Council meeting, the province will be notified that the Town wishes to proceed with this analysis.
Mayor Keffer and Deputy Mayor Leduc are hosting a Public Town Hall Meeting to provide more information, to hear from residents and business owners, and give everyone the opportunity to discuss comments and questions on the future relationship of Bradford West Gwillimbury and Simcoe County.
