Once upon a time, all the kids of Bradford West Gwillimbury were looking for a way to cure their summer boredom with fun things to do and now they are in luck! The TD Summer Reading Club is back in-person at the BWG Library! TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest summer reading program for kids of all ages, interests, and abilities.

Over the last two years, our readers made our virtual TD Summer Reading Club a success. Last year our readers (aged 6 to 12) logged 71,424 minutes of reading (that is over 1100 hours of reading) while our pre-readers logged over 752 books. This year our summer reading club is back in person at the Library where participants can report their reading and join us for many exciting programs!

Studies have shown that summer library programs help children maintain their reading level and learning skills they achieved during the preceding school year.  With our Summer Reading Challenge, kids are encouraged to read for fun, which allows them to explore their individual interests and form good reading habits without realizing it!

Registration is open on Saturday, June 25 – get ready to venture into magical realms where anything can happen as we discover fairy tales and folk tales, new and old! Drop-in any time between 1:00 and 3:00 pm to register and enjoy making crafts with us!

Can’t make it into the Library? You can still participate virtually this year again. Our TD Summer Reading Club will be available to participate via Beanstack! Visit bwglibrary.beanstack.org or download the Beanstack Tracker App to track your reading and earn reading and activity badges! You’ll still be entered into our contests including our mid-summer and top-reader prizes!
