NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF BRADFORD WEST GWILLIMBURY

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury (BWG) and MADD Simcoe County are proud to announce their partnership for Campaign 911, an annual national awareness campaign aimed at preventing impaired driving and saving lives across Canada.

Initiated by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Canada, Campaign 911 is hosted annually and empowers the Canadian public to be vigilant and proactive in reporting suspected impaired drivers by calling 911. Collectively, we can play a role in keeping our roads and waterways safe and help reduce impaired driving crashes, deaths, and injuries.

The Town of BWG is hosting a flag raising and proclamation reading on Saturday, May 11, followed by a community open house event, hosted by MADD Simcoe County, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Event details

Flag raising: Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11 a.m. Sunshine Square (outdoors), BWG Leisure Centre, 471 West Park Ave.

Community open house: Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Community Corner (indoors), BWG Leisure Centre, 471 West Park Ave.

“Community and traffic safety is council’s top priority and supporting this campaign is a big step in ensuring safer streets across our community. We all play a role in keeping our roads safe, and dialling 911 when we suspect impaired drivers is one of the greatest impacts we can have in reducing impaired driving crashes, deaths, and injuries. I encourage residents to learn more about the campaign and MADD Simcoe County by participating in our upcoming flag raising and community event.” — Mayor James Leduc
