Staff and students at Codrington Public School are bringing back the fun this June.

The north-Barrie elementary school has recently begun planning for its 36th annual Fun Fair and Silent Auction, scheduled for Friday, June 14 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“Last year was the Big 35 and first Fun Fair since COVID-19 shutdowns, and we want to thank every community partner and supporter for helping us to make it a resounding success,” said school council chair Danielle Shannahan. “The students, staff, parents and entire community had an amazing time with lots of activities, games, challenges and food.”

Shannahan credits the success of the event to the generous support of the community, and is hoping that generosity will return to help support this year’s fair.

“We are reaching out and asking the community and businesses … for donations to display in our auction. Your item will be clearly labelled with your business name, location and value of item,” she noted, adding guests will be able to view the items and place bids on the day of the auction."

Donations can be anything from gift certificates and vouchers to gift baskets, Shannahan noted.

“We would be extremely grateful as funds raised from these auction items go right back to supporting our youth through various school programs,” she said. “Thank you for your continued support as events like these would not be possible without the ongoing support of our Codrington families and community. We’re looking forward to bringing our community out and together again and sincerely hope we see you at the fair.”

Anyone interested in making a donation or discussing alternate sponsorship opportunities is asked to contact Shannahan at [email protected] or 249-877-3373.
