It's election day, and here's what York-Simcoe voters need to know.

Residents can vote anytime today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. To find a voting station near you, click here

  1. When you arrive at a voting location, you will be asked to show your ID to an election official who will check if you are registered on the voters list. If you are not on the list, the election official will add you to the voters list and ask you to sign a declaration.
  2. The election official will then issue you a ballot.
  3. You will go behind a voting screen to mark your ballot. To vote for your chosen candidate, mark an X in the circle beside their name, and return the completed ballot to the box.
  4. In a voting location with technology, you will place your marked ballot into the secrecy folder and take it to an election official operating a tabulator. In a voting location without technology, you will fold your ballot and deposit it yourself into a ballot box.

Below is a list of the York-Simcoe candidates and their respective parties.

  • Walter Alvarez-Bardales - Ontario Liberal Party
  • Franco Colavecchia - Ontario Moderate Party
  • Brent Fellman - New Blue
  • Alana Hollander - Ontario Party
